Inspired by the ancient cave paintings found in France and Spain, this panel emulates the highly detailed and wonderful paintings of prehistoric Man. Many of these ancient images found all over Europe are more than 20,000 years old! These incredible paintings are a testament to man and his artistic drive, created in deep subterranean corridors that have never seen the light of day. Image a shaman embarking upon a journey deep within the subterranean levels of an immense cavern, taking with him powders to make colored pigments. The only light he had in which to navigate this labyrinth of spectral formations and bottomless chasms, was a hand-held lamp made of polished sandstone, fueled by wicks of juniper saturated by animal fat. As it is today it was in prehistoric times, you could wind up dead and unknown in the pursuit of your artistic vision.
